"8" Having lived in Belgium for 5 yrs..I hope your drinking "Kwak" in its proper glass?? How dare you! Mrs 8 is particularly appreciative of my collection of Belgian beer glasses! The Kwak has to be washed up carefully. Tip: Get a Duvel glass. The Mrs will believe the 'it's only a half' argument. It isn't, it holds a lot more! Young's Kew Brew now. In an Abbot Ale glass I have to admit. Still tastes fine.

Heat 6 we are on a 5-1 as our boys both pass Protasiewicz. Then RONNIE's bike packs up. FREDDIE wins 7 straightforwardly after a fine first turn.
Heat 8: KRYZS gets the first turn wrong, collects RONNIE and they both hit the fence. KRYZS excluded. Both are up and OK. RONNIE looks unamused. Bit of a delay as they chase the airfence down the Bilston Road.

Kwak is one of those Belgian brews which suffers from the Belgians not knowing when to leave alone. They add candied sugar to it, mostly for colour. One is enough for me.

I always had a taste for Duvel; the other one I remember was Rochefort, and I only remember it because of the cheese. I think this was a Trappist beer too. Very pleasant, well, pleasant's not the right word, but you know what I mean.

Key to this meeting is obviously (yet again) going to be how our top two go in 13 and 15. HA, PP and (surprsingly) Kim J seem to be going well again tonight. Luckily Miskowiak isn't....so far

Heat 8 is from the gate, as is 9. ADAM pushes PP hard. Track dried out now and getting slick. We need to gate.

MM2 describes the crowd as stunned after heat 10. On a now dry and slick track Jansson gets a flier and looks a certain winner. Then on turn 3 of lap 3 MIKE goes hard underneath him in a 'Pedersenesque' move. Jansson is shoved out wide and RONNIE passes as well. Some surprise as the ref lets it go. MM2 has never seen MIKE ride as hard!
Heat 11 Miskowiak gates and FREDDIE does everything but pass him. MAGNUS falls pushing Andersen.
Interval now on.

Very pleasant, well, pleasant's not the right word, but you know what I mean. Classy beer Duvel. One of those rare ales you can drink chilled or room temperature. Rochefort is indeed a Trappiste: all six are Belgian and I have been to four. Rochefort is a beer to cellar for months if not years. Like one or two others it is sublime after two or three years. B****y lethal stuff too.

Well you did ask for comment, moans, beer enquiries, Ipswich trivia on this thread:
Did you know that the Fat Cat pub in Ipswich sells Chimay, Duvel, Forbidden Fruit, Kwak, Liefmans, Orval, Timmermans, Westmalle, amongst others?
(Ipswich trivia, beer enquiry)
It's so unfair (moan)
It has a very nice website (comment)

Another great ride from MIKE in 13 as he passes and wins easy. FREDDIE pulls up within a lap.
KRYZSTOF in for MAGNUS in 14.
Jason Crump out of meeting at Eastbourne with suspected broken thumb or scaphoid.
