Talking of Cribby, was we, yes I was, I remember one race with Ivan Blacka, Blacka had a moan at Cribby on the back straight after the race. Cribby just stood up and brought his fist down on Blacka head! Ivan crumpled like a pack of cards! And he still had his helmet on! Cribby, hard or wot?! I remember it well , it was Wolves V E'boro,a Sunday afternoon and Cribby had just been presented with some sponsership in the form of a Lada. Cribby hit him on the first bend, just in front of where I was standing. His rather large fist went through the front of Blacka's helmet. I remember it even better. I was a track raker in those days, and after Cribby hit Blacka (right in the helmet, oooooh!) Blacka tumbled backwards over his bike. I helped pick Blacka and his bike up. The funny thing was that Blacka even went over to Cribby in the pits to have another go (=get hit hard again) and had to be held back by the track staff. Priceless! On a separate subject, pretty glad I forgot all about this one - just remembered, and checked in to see how many we had got. Even I was expecting more than 24. Awful. But thanks for the updates all the same and sorry I couldn't help you break the record. Rob

..Like the management ride the bikes? No but they do pick who rides them. You dont post very often but when you do it seems like you always stick up for the management.....may i ask why?

TBH tonight means nothing, no point roasting the management over the performance. I'd rather us get hammered, and those riders who we may be using next year (poss PK, David and Will) can get their averages down a little. When it comes to team building every 0.01 pt can count! Lets forget this season, think positive and move forward. That is at least one good thing that the management are doing, putting a good framework together for the future. A year or two late maybe, but it is being done. We once were proud of the loyalty we showed to our riders, and in the past we have reaped rewards from it. Recently, its the loyalty that has cost us. But you are missing one extremely important point here BWitcher... Folk have paid good money to watch this speedway meeting which is supposed to entertain. The least that can be expected is maximum effort from both teams and a desire to win. If your principals above are applied to speedway meetings then the sport would be dead and buried within a season. And to suggest that it is acceptable to give little or no effort last night in order to provide more success in six months time is frankly absurd. There will be no-one there to see it!

I'm not suggesting that it was a deliberate tactic Lawt, just that it was fairly predictable how badly we would do.
An understrength team, with little confidence, carrying injuries, nothing left to ride for and at a track they despise!
I think the only one who didn't perform as expected was PK!
The framework for the future I was referring too is the younger riders we are signing, not average lowering.
