I was still here - biting my fingernails, so couldn't type. I'll take the win - well done to Freddie and NKI, good #1 & 2 scores - the rest seemed to be hit and miss; on the bright side, if Hefenbrock would have scored one, then Moonbeam could be seen to be the match winner

Well.. we got there in the end.. No thanks to yet more INEPT team management.
Here's a tip Peter Adams. When one reserve is riding a lot better than the other, you give him 5 rides. And the other one 3. Quite simple. Just like every team who visit us at the Green does so. Especially when the away team has a rider of 15 metres! Your pathetic team management nearly cost us yet another match.
Onto the performers....
Freddie
Good nights work from Fred. Off Gate 4 in Heat 1 and taken wide by Adams. Quickly got past McGowan on lap 2 to settle in for a 3-3. Superb from then on, including a tremendous pass of bend 4 of Adams in Heat 13. Chased him again in 15, but a 3-3 was enough
4/5
Ales
Almost got the drop on Adams in Heat 1, tried to push him wide but Adams squeezed by down the back straight. Settled in for 2nd place. Two gates and second places behind Fred in his 2nd and 4th, either side on an awful ride in Heat 8 where he missed the gate, and was then passed by an inept McGowan on lap 3.
3/5
Niels
Superb riding from Niels all night. Was untouchable in his 1st 4 heats, even stuffing Adams out of the way on the 1st turn in Heat 5. Didn't make the start in 15 and was last out of bend 2, but rounded Korneliussen on bends 3 & 4 to secure the victory.
4.5/5
David
Once again a flattering score. Once again FAILED to beat an opposition heat leader. In fact, the only opposition riders he beat were Wright and Pavlic (eventually passed Pavlic on lap 3 in Heat 4). Threw away what could have been a vital point in 13, after getiting past Korneliussen he made a mistake on bends 3 & 4 to let Korny back up the inside. As they drag raced down the straight Korny went wide, and as we have seen him do many times, David bailed out before the turn. No contact. Its time he used his head and throttled off to come back under the other rider. Very little improvement.
1.5/5
Kenneth
I just don't get this lad. One week he looks like he has great potential, rides aggressively and is very fast. Then another week this incarnation turns up. Started badly when the tapes rose in Heat 2 and his chain shed... Next time out he rode like a novice, two wheeling into bends 3 time and again. Wright ahead of him was absolutely all over the place, but still Hansen made no impression. Got 3rd place in his last ride, after Pavlic was stuffed on turn 1 and lost 50 yards. Should never... ever. have been in Heat 14, regardless of Adams in the race. Was passed woefully easily, conveniantly moving out of the way almost!
0.5/5
Nicolai
Got better as the night went on. Bad start in Heat 2, but he chased and caught Hauzinger, passing him on the inside on the back straight lap 3. He then tried to catch Pavlic, only to get in a complete mess on turn 1 lap 4, straightening and almost stopping allowing Hauzinger back through into 2nd. His next ride was better as he secured 3rd place ahead of Wright, whilst trying to pressure Pavlic. Heat 8, he took a comfortable second, again unable to catch Pavlic up front. Finally he got him in Heat 12, riding a good inside line to pass Pavlic on lap 3. He wasn't far off Korneliussen at the end either.
3/5
Some very worrying events regarding Jensen/Munberg/Moonbeam.
Firstly, he was riding Daniel Giffards bike.
Secondly in his interview he said "It was hard to ride at first as the setup was different to mine. Hopefully next week it will be different when.... " at this point we expected him to say "when I have my own bikes.."... but alas no.... "When I change a few parts and try and make it feel more like my own".
Oh dear oh dear. Looks like a signing on the cheap big time.

Well now the stevebrum flavour Track looked grippy initially but seemed to ride quite patchy. Particularly the 2nd bend, whilst the 4th bend was dodgy out wide. Crowd still sparse and lacking in enthusiasm however on parade Jesper got the biggest cheer. Clearly welcomed by the majority then. I felt the the Robins expected to win tonight and whilst they started well got caught out by us gaining momentum and were lucky to take it to the last heat decider. Rules is rules of course. people around me asked - is it within the rules to allow a change of rider once the programmed rider is under 2 minutes and sat at the tapes?? I suspect theres no real ruling on that but it looks mad having a team manager sprinting across the track (heat 14) to wave his rider off to make a late change. However to be fair Rosco IS on the ball changes wise. Wolves Freddie - messed up the gate in heat 1 and looked dominate in the other programmed rides. His pass of Adams in the 13th was sublime and class. Great night for the captain. 4.5/5 Ales - heat 8 seemed to fall asleep when all he had to do was defend his position. A clever race in the 10th for 2 laps. 2.5/5 Niels - class throughout and quick! Clever on the opening bends also to put himself in the best position. Saw off Adams with comfort to boot. MOTM 4.5?5 Jesper - Needs to get his own equipment asap. Cant see why he isnt bringing his own bikes over. The management should be ensuring that WILL happen otherwise we will just get a cheap rate Jesper. The fans deserve more. That said - dismal first 2 rides, dead and buried in the 9th then came to life and showed that he has some class and bought the terraces alight. Could have been a costly mistake in the 14th tho. Failed to beat a heat leader in his 3rd heat leader role. 1/5 David - has a bit more fight back but recognised post match interview that he`s had his troubles. As always you get honesty from the man. Looked quite quicker and a bit more hungrier. Looked a desperate move in the 13th and would love to hear his views on this heat. As bwitcher pointed out didnt beat a heat leader however is that a 2nd strings role to do?? 2.5/5 Kenneth - largely off the pace and had a poor night at the office. Messed up in heat 14 - could have been costly. 0.5/5 Nic - deserved the extra ride in the 14th. fought hard in the 2nd to get back in contention and a was rewarded with hard work in the 12th after Pavlic messed up for the upteemth time in that race 3.5/5 Robins Adams - the armchair had to play 2nd fiddle on a couple of occasions but is still a points horse. 4/5 Mcgowan - usually good value around the Green. Dissapointing. 1.5/5 Korneilussen - first 2 heats ok then was largely a bit player in Swindons challenge. 2.5/5 Wright - struggled with the track big time and a big let down to Swindons chances of glory tonight. 1/5 Hauzinger - Held on in heat 2 but otherwise nothing. Did his job in the 2nd so job done. 1/5 Pavlic - Stunning debut and boy the kid can trap!!! The robins have a real capture on there hands and should ensure they have a huge say in the play offs. 4.5/5

Thanks for the reports, I'm really glad you finally got to see a Wolves win and last heat decider too. Jesper's bikes - I read in the press that he said he had sold all his gear and clearly its down to Wolves to come up with some for him as part of the deal. I also read the Manic Speedway Preacher's column in the E & S a couple of weeks ago (hey, I was bored OK?) where he came to the conclusion that signing Jesper wouldn't be worth the large financial outlay due to bikes, van, accommodation etc. I'm sure they can't be trying to make do on the cheap can they? No doubt the club will come up with top quality equipment very quickly, just like they did for Magnus last year. BWitcher - if you don't join the Fantasy League soon I'm sending Lupus round to sort you out.
