Great crowd, great race track and some top drawer racing - Thabk god we have the track we do!
And to win against the mediocre fleas just about means we start in the best possible way.
Heat 13 must already go down as contender for race of the season.
PK and Fred trying to keep Harris at bay with all 3 seperated by a stray pube.(
). Pram baby Sclein at the back and out of it. (reverting back to last season starting form Rory??!!) Harris did a superb switch to pass both on the last lap in superb style. I was told that Harris wasnt that hot yesterday at Swindon - well he was roasting hot tonight. The fastest rider and best rider with ease.
Wolves gave an accomplished showing on the 1st meeting Welcome home PK!!!!!!-
WOLVES
PK, how we missed him last season , showed the reason why. He just simply knows the best way around monmore . His cutback on Karlsson corridor in heat 10 was sublime. 4.5/5
Nicolai - Did a fair supporting role to PK. Was fast and furious in heat 8 and was miles ahead. Obviously will need to learn to pass in traffic. But looked much more assured than in P&P. 2.5/5
TAI - started completely out of sorts (that wasnt in the scrpit!) and he admitted afterwards that the pressure got to him but once that was out the way improved with each heat. Seeing him team ride with TY in heat 12 shows just what a bright future we are likely to have. 3.5/5
Adam - looked capable of winning heats and looked fast enough. In the thick of plenty of action and can be a perfect foil for Tai. He certainly looks fast enough. Welcome back Polish champ!! 4/5
Freddie - started superb then tailed. Was left wanting a little in the heat 15 but was just 2nd best in heat 13. 3.5/5
Hynek - still tends to ride the track wide and even gave chance for Parson to sneek alongside him on a couple of occasions. He seems confident and infectious. Just hope the fans give him time to settle (note to self - more chance of the baggies winning the Premiership this season). 1/5
TY - this is the reason why he needs most of the meetings. Cant understand why others arent frightened of his ability this season. After tonight - they should be. Beaten only once by a Bee and beat Schlein and Allen. If he does eventually sign for Wolves (CVS confirmed at talk in it will be up to Ty if he likes us and signs - well lets all make sure he does!!!!!!!) 4.5/5 ****MOTM - for wolves
BEES
HARRIS - he may have missed out on a maximum but it mattered not. On this showing totally quality. 5/5 *** MAN OF THE MEETING**
Barker - Besides heat 8 did little else except beat a struggling reserve. 1/5
Allen - had a great win to start with but then on plugged away . Was disapointing in his big heat 12. 2/5
Kennett - always a threat at the Green. Was always in the action and deserved more points. 4/5
Schlein - seemed to be trying to hard to me. Looked a bit like a newcomer to me. Wild on turn 4 but on the opening lap killed his speed time and time again. Cov will need him big time (like last year) or they will have another 2008 season (such is life). 0.5/5
Frampton - Well he beat Hynek in heat 2 but otherwise little else. As i expected - Cov are woeful at reserve. 0.5/5
Parsons - talking of woeful( ;D) . Actually stayed on his bike in one of his heats. Otherwise besides to trying to pass a rider hardly ever ridden a track as small as monmore he was completely out of his depth 0/5
So, 1st blood to wolves.
The blood smells sweet.
