Evening all,
I'm still recovering from the thrilling end to the football season and Wolves hokey cokey, up, down, in, out etc. I'm sure this Elite Shield clash will keep the whole country captivated in much the same way.
I'm avoiding the Sky match tonight. Can't stand the thought of two idiots telling me how British Speedway is thriving because Pedersen rides here when he's got nothing better to do (which isn't very often so far) Watching Cubs v Redsox from ESPN last night which is much more interesting.

Stevebrum needs to speed up his updates - I'm falling asleep at work here.

Only (of course) Nicki isn't riding tonight. He picked up a knock in Poland yesterday - one that didn't apparently stop him taking three more rides. GT guests and, so far, no passing. By anyone.

Bloody hell we are 3 up on aggregate - when was the last time we did the double? '96?

Peterboro are like a baseball team in America- they run 6 home meetings in a week usually in August.

Just checked their fixtures. Including away meetings the panthers have three fixtures in the whole of July. Then ten in August. With three at least to be rearranged.
We are 40-26 up after 11, it's now the interval. Poole still to use a TR, must be Darcy in 12.
I make us 5 in front.

Never mind that..
According to The Idiot Sky duo we have just witnessed the best piece of team riding, maybe in the history of speedway.
It was BRILLIANT.. AMAZING.. TALK US THROUGH IT KELVIN!
Jesus christ.. Richardson, well in front.. basically shut off to allow Batchelor (on a tac to win the race)...
But in the eyes of Kelvin and Nigel.. it was sensational.

Ohhh... I missed the team riding.
According to live updates aggregate score, Poole won the first leg 26-3. I'm confused.

8-1 to Poole in 12. Now 2 behind with three to go.
If it's level on aggregate, do we get to do it all again?
Or will they toss a coin.
Freddie/PK 5-1 in 13. 3 in front?

I hope its rock, paper, scissors.
How did we get in the final again? Was it our 1996 KO Cup win that swung it?

5-1 and 4-2 in 13 and 14 have won it I think. Well done Ricky Wells in 14.

55-38 after a 5-1 in 15.
Shield glory or a meaningless fixture?
Well, seeing as we won, obviously the former.
'night all.
