Iversen 'fell' whilst last. Poole were on an easy 5-1. DAVID beaten by a brilliant ride from Holder in the rerun, aided by Pedersen who was slowing it down. Gutted. Not slow enough apparently.

Thanks for the updates - hugely appreciated.
I'm just wondering now when we'll win again - hopefully at least one of the two play-offs at the end of the season....

First off.
Absolutely brilliant meeting. Some of the racing tonight was unbelievable.
Poole, a lucky lucky team to come and win when we got 4pts from Fred's rides.
The boys showed some great passion and spirit tonight.
Ales .. Couldn't really expect much more. Some brilliant starting and an excellent 10 pt
Niels.. Boy did he deserve more points. Came from the back on 3 occasions, only to lose out again in 2 of them. Not sure if he is fully fit yet or he may well have scored a few more.
Nicolai.. Steady 3rd place in his 1st followed by 2 missed starts and despite trying no way through. Then came his 4th... WOW. After being deposited in the fence by Zettorstrom (no contact, but a blatant attempt by Zetterstrom to cause it) he got up, dusted himself down and proceeded to blast round a FAST Skornicki. He exited turn 4 on one wheel, somehow he didn't shut off, kept it wound on and rounded Skornicki on turns 1 & 2. Brilliant ride that deserved to win the match.
David.. Bloody Awful. Waste of Space. Sack the Bloke... Only kidding Steve, calm down. Although still not on his top form he battled hard all night. Pulled out a cracking ride in Heat 13 and was very unlucky in his last. He could perhaps have settled for 2nd and blocked Holders outside run and got the draw, but fair play, he saw a gap, cut back under Bjarne out of turn 4 and was about half a yard short of making the pass. Bjarne closed the turn into turn 1, David had too much speed to turn sharply without completely locking up and losing it, and Holder got the run round the outside. Cannot fault him for going for the win. Whether its enough to keep his place, time will tell.
Christian.. Awful in his 1st 2.. in his 3rd, made a good start and found himself in 2nd place.... but alas he was on the outside of turn 3.. Just as I shouted "Christian, what are you doing out there??" he sure enough realised the fence was near and slid into it.
Kenny.. Deserved more than his points show. Superb heat 4 victory and was on the pace and battling away in his other rides. Only bad one was heat 2, but then he was stuck behind Hefenbrock for 2 laps, before literally moving him out of the way, after which he gained 30 yards on the Poole duo in 2 laps.
All round, gutting to lose, but I came away happy that the team had shown some FIGHT. If only that had been the case the rest of the year!
Now we just need two rain-offs against Eastbourne, we can change the team and win the cup. ;D

Well, who would have thought we would have took it to a last heat decider leading by 2???
Anyone???
WELL DONE 5 of the team who tried there hearts out. Thanks guys. Team places most definetly being fought for.
Wolves rider replacement - 4 4th places tells its own story
Ales - Is learning to pass particularly wide on 2nd bend. Great start with 3 wins and did well to keep watt in 3rd in the with but WHAT A GATE in the 13th. No idea how it got away with that!!!!!!! 4/5
Niels - a welcome comeback as was really in the thick of the action. Some whole hearted efforts some went his way as some didnt. No lacking in effort. Was at the back in the 15th when he fell, seemed to pick up drive on the 3rd bend and went down on his own. Poole fans around was saying he `bailed out!` - thats one opinion i suppose! 4.5/5
Nic- had a dodgy couple of rides but this kid cannot be faulted for effort. His ride in the 14th showed the class this lad possesses. Particulary having been catred into the fence by zetterstrom (BOOO!!!) 4/5
David - his speed looked much better tonight tho still not nailing those 2nd andd 4th bends as he normally does. Great team ride in the 4th and very unlucky to lose out in the 15th battle after doing all the hard work for 3 laps. Holder bounced at the right time and david was visibly gutted to lose out. Much better showing however. Plus the only rider to beat holder .4/5
Heffers - woeful woeful woeful. picked up a hand injury when he got out of shape in the 11th. Just cant figure him out. 0/5
Hansen - showed great speed on occasions tonight. and the sort of committment you need from a reserve. 3.5/5
Poole - lucky tonight. With freddie they wouldnt have took it a last heat decider.
Holder - just got out of shape in heat 1 when he clattered howe into the fence but had massive speed. Howe got away from him early in heat 13 and couldnt catch despite trying. His heat 15 swoop was pure class. 4.5/5
eriksson - pretty solid and reliable to score in each heat. 2.5/5
Pedersen - lost out once in another superb tussle with iversen but was a true number one when poole needed him. 4.5/5
skornicki - took 2 heats to get going then did his job. Great to see him at the green as always. 2.5/5 Watt - seemed to struggle with conditions tonight. One of the main reasons why they failed to nail us early on. 1/5
zetterstrom - rightly earned the wrath of the crowd for his reckless challenge on klindt in the 14th. Plus very childlike inciting the crowd on the post match parade. take your zetter dance and get out the stadium!!!! Otherwise very average. 1.5/5
Davisdsson - did his job in heat 2 otherwise nothing 0/5/5
Oh well a match no one thought we COULD win and very nearly did. THanks boys for trying to restore some faith. WE LOVE YOU!!!!!

Thoroughly entertaining meeting, heat 15 was one of the best we'll see all season. Bad luck to the boys, who gave their all.

Great entertainment tonight really big pat on the back to the team, once again like Eastbourne a couple of years ago-without Mikael backs to the wall we came out fighting, only to fall at the last hurdle just like that Eastbourne meeting.Couldn't fault the guys effort, deserved something from the meeting. But sadly to end, sorry Heffers your time is up......there was a good up and coming American knocking a few laps out afterwards-looked a good prospect!!!!

take your zetter dance and get out the stadium!!!! I've been shouting the same thing at him for years - I just use 7 less words, and a lot fewer letters (although the letter "f" makes a number of appearances)

cant really add anything to whats already been said about the performance tonight, with 1 exception the boys gave it their all, and I am absoutely gutted for them ( as well as myself). Shame about the bunch of morons who stood behind us though (from the south coast), they only seemed to know 3 words.............bailed out and cheat for Neils and Nicolai respectively, a real shame Howie couldn't have shoved their words down their throats in ht 15

Firstly, I'm genuinely delighted it was a good meeting, that the team battled well, that they did better than expected etc. etc.
But.
They got into a position to win the meeting. Two points up going into a last heat decider at home. I know Chris Holder is an excellent prospect but Iversen and Howe should easily be capable of beating him and winning the match. You'd hope one of them could storm out of the gate and win the race. No way should they concede a 1-5 in that heat. When we were good, would Sam, Ronnie, Peter, Mikael etc. have lost to Holder in a last heat decider?
I don't really buy the "injury ravaged team" line either. We were lucky to be able to use a guest for NKI in recent matches - Fred is really our number one. We were unlucky to have to use R/R for Fred in this match, but a good team would have pulled together and covered for him. Yes, it was a big handicap, but the biggest problem is still that the team simply isn't good enough.
We need a number one who you are confident can come out and win heats 13 and 15 week after week. We need to win at home before we even think about winning an away match. Keep Freddie, bring PK back.

Let's be controversial for a moment.. I absolutely agree we need an out and out number 1. Heats 13 and 15 have cost us a trainload of points over the last few years.
I am not sure whether PK is the answer now. 5 years ago, absolutely. We do of course have an asset currently out of EL speedway who fits the bill perfectly.
Are we that desperate yet?

YES!! As much as it can be, he is guaranteed at least 12 to 13 points a match, EVERY match. And I firmly believe that it would really help Kenny and Nic having the Danish captain and world champion alongside them every meeting.

I'm far from convinced that he is the answer or that it's worth weakening the rest of the side (at least statistically) to fit him in. However this does show how short sighted the policy of simply banking the loan fee was. As has been said many times on this forum, if they had no intention of using Pedersen over the past few years, at the very least they should have used him as bait to improve the team, swap him for another number one etc.
Only Wolves could "own" the world champion and derive no benefit whatsoever from it!
