Poole won the toss and took gates 1 and 3.
Heat1 Lindback, Max, Zetterstrom, Eric 57.72
4-2
Even gate, but Eric goes too wide on the first bend and drops to last. Lindback makes the most of gate 1 to win in the fastest time of the season.
Heat2 Kasprzak, Freddie, Davidsson,Adam 58.26
4-2/8-4
Why can't spedway riders all be called Smith or Jones....
Anyway....
Kasprzak like lightning from gate 4. Davidsson passes Adam out of the second bend for 3rd place. Freddie presses Kasprzak for 2 laps before dropping back.
Heat3 Howe, Ferjan, Pedersen, Adam (R/R)(F) 57.52
3-3/11-7
David makes a fast start from gate 4. Adam gates second , but Ferjan passes him on back straight. Adam slides off on the first bend of the second lap gifting third to Pedersen. David hangs on despite not looking comfortable on grippy track.
Heat4 Sullivan, Kasprzak, Sam, Freddie 57.06
5-1/16-8
Even gate. Sam goes for the big swoop around the outside, but is baulked by Freddie who is drifting wide. Sullivan is gone and wins in a new Track Record time.
Heat5 Max, Pedersen, Eric,Ferjan 57.86
2-4/18-12
Wolves gate on a 5-1. Great ride from Eric to keep Pedersen at bay for 2 and a half laps, but sheer power wins the day.Ferjan way at the back.
Heat6 Lindback,Zetterstrom, Sam, Freddie 58.11
5-1/23-13
Poole riders gate, with both of our riders struggling on the track. Freddie holds 3rd until bend 1 of lap4, when he falls. Sam lays down to avoid him, but remounts for the point.
Heat7 Sullivan, Howe,Davidsson, Skornicki(R/R)58.22
4-2/27-15
Sullivan gates and is gone. Adam holds third before drifting wide on the 4th bend of lap 1, nearly hitting the fence allowing Davidsson through for the gift.
Heat8 Freddie, Zetterstrom,Kasprzak, Max(TS) 58.21
3-3/30-18
Mikael in as TS from 15 metres - hard to understand as there has not been much passing and both Poole riders are fast when they get out.
Freddie gates and rides off into the sunset. Mikael is all over Kasprzak's back wheel for 2 laps but just can't find a way through.
Heat9 Pedersen,Ferjan,Freddie(TR),Sam 60.13
5-2/35-20
Freddie on double points TR.
Freddie and Pedersen clash from the gate with Freddie falling. All 4 back in the re run. Freddie runs back to pits to fix his bike which is carried off with a badly bent front wheel.
In the re run Freddie lifts at the gate and the others are gone. Sam tries to pass Ferjan for 2 laps, before letting Freddie through to try as he is on double points
Heat10 Lindback, Zetterstrom, Howe, Skornicki(R/R) 58.69
5-1/40-21
Poole riders gate.Adam pulls up on the last lap when a distant last.We are treated to a double disco dance from Lindback and Zorro.
Heat11 Sullivan, Max, Eric,Davidsson 58.92
3-3/43-24
Sullivan makes another fast start. Max chases him for two laps before dropping back to help Eric who is riding an excellent race in 3rd to keep Davidsson out.
Heat12 Howe(R/R)(TR), Ferjan, Freddie, Kasprzak 58.51
2-7/45-31
David in on double points TR.
Fast start from David. Freddie pushes Ferjan hard for 2 laps before Ferjan pulls clear.
Heat13 Lindback, Sam, Sullivan, Max 58.71
4-2/49-33
Even start. Hard first corner. Sam blocks Sullivan and heads off down the straight after the fast starting Lindback. Just can't quite get around Lindback on bends 3 and 4. Mikael holds 3rd until he makes a mistake entering bend 1 of lap3 and Sullivan gets past.Much better ride from Sam
Heat14 Howe, Freddie, Pedersen, Davidsson 59.76
1-5/50-38
Even start again. David takes Pedersen wide and Freddie intelligently cuts back through the gap. Fine ride, and at last something to cheer!
Heat 15 Sullivan, Max, Lindback, Howe.
4-2/54-40
Another even start and hard first corner. David almost falls on the first corner and his race is over. Sullvan pulls clear, but at least Mikael ruins Lindback's maximum.
WEATHER***** fine, sunny and warm
TRACK CONDITIONS**** well prepared and evenly watered. Unusually for Poole the blue line was kept at bay until heat14 - may have caught our riders out a little. Track had been completely relaid over the previous week, but held up quite well.
ATTENDANCE**** Usual large crowd at Wimborne Road
WOLVES PERFORMANCE ** Never really in with the chance of a shock win. Our riders took some time to get used to the grippy track conditions.
ENTERTAINMENT VALUE** hardly any passing despite a well prepared track giving some fast action. Our team's performance probably lessened the entertainment value - the home fans might give a ****
WOLVES MAN OF THE MATCH- a very difficult decision. Mikael, David and Freddie all in with a shout. David did well at a track that I haven't seen him ride well at in the past. However, my man of the match goes to FREDDIE LINDGREN. He never gave up trying, and had two excellent rides in heat 8 and heat 14.
RIDERS PERFORMANCES:
MIKAEL *** not one of his better performances at Poole, and he seems to have lost his touch in heat 13 recently. It might be better to put him back at number 5 to give him one of his favoured outside gates in that race.
ERIC*** excellent performance . His loan spell at Glasgow is paying dividends already. Much sharper at the gate and looked more confident in his riding.
DAVID **** Good performance at a track that he sometimes struggles at. Very close to being Man of the Match.
SAM** a better ride from the skipper in heat 13 saved him from a *. He was also a little unlucky in heat4 to be baulked on the first 2 bends.
FREDDIE**** never gave up and 2 good rides in heat 8 and 14. Just shaved the Man of the Match from David because he is riding way above his age and experience.
ADAM* - because I can't give a zero despite his performance deserving it. He really was awful - I don't know whether it was the track, his bike or him!!
REFEREE - Dave Dowling - a very straightforward meeting for him. No difficult decisions to make.
