Decorum, plus website rules, render me unable to publish my personal opinion in this report, so I will proceed with the heat summaries.
Heat 1: Andersen, Max, Correy, Baran, 57.07. 3-3, 3-3.
Mikael moved at the tapes, but failed to gain an advantage so the race continued. Baran went very wide and fell to the back, while Andersen led all the way.
Heat 2 (re-run): Karlsson, Miskowiak, King, Pecyna (f.exc), 58.82. 3-3, 6-6.
The Wolves gated but Krys fell exiting turn two and went into the fence. Magnus led, but with Krys stuck under the air fence the race had to be stopped. Magnus led all the way in the rerun, inflicting Miskowiak’s only defeat by a Wolves rider.
Heat 3: Louis, Lindgren, Jansson, Johnston, 58.52. 2-4, 8-10.
Ipswich gated but Freddie blasted around the outside all the way, taking second from Jansson on lap two, but couldn’t catch Louis.
Heat 4: Protasiewicz, Miskowiak, Howe, Pecyna, 58.91. 1-5, 9-15.
Ipswich gated again and led all the way., with Johno sliding wide and falling to fourth.
Heat 5: Lindgren, Andersen, Johnston, Baran, 58.06. 4-2, 13-17.
Johno tried to take Andersen wide but failed, leaving the Dane to chase Freddie at the front. Freddie held off Andersen all the way for a fine win.
Heat 6: Protasiewicz, Correy, Max, King, 58.25. 3-3, 16-20.
Mikael took Pepe for the lead at turn three with a good inside move, but then slipped back to third behind Pepe – the same rider who has previously struggled to score points at Monmore – and Ronnie.
Heat 7: Howe, Louis, Karlsson, Jansson, 58.73. 4-2, 20-22.
Jansson moved at the tapes, but again no advantage was gained, and again the race continued. Wolves led but Louis took second on lap three after race-long pressure on Magnus.
Heat 8: Miskowiak, Correy, Pecyna, Baran, 58.67. 3-3, 23-25.
Miskowiak led all the way after gating level with Ronnie, while Krys came under pressure from Baran on the final lap.
Heat 9: Protasiewicz, Lindgren, Johnston, King, 57.99. 3-3, 26-28.
The Wolves stayed closer to Pepe this time, but he still continued unbeaten.
Heat 10: Max, Correy, Louis, Jansson, 57.94. 5-1, 31-29.
Wolves led from the start, with Ronnie trying valiantly to cover the inside line to keep Louis behind. Exiting turn four Ronnie locked right up and went almost sideways across the track, forcing a disgruntled Louis to lock up in avoidance and ensuring a Wolves 5-1.
Heat 11: Andersen, Miskowiak, Howe, Karlsson, 58.53. 1-5, 32-34.
Ipswich from the gate.
Heat 12: Miskowiak, Lindgren, Jansson, Karlsson, 57.97. 2-4, 34-38.
Ipswich from the gate, despite pressure from Freddie who eventually took second, but Miskowiak was away and clear once again. Can anyone explain why the World Under-21 champion was brought in on the same average as Krzysztof Pecyna?
Heat 13: Andersen, Protasiewicz, Max, Howe, 58.00. 1-5, 35-43.
Ipswich from the gate (see a pattern emerging?).
Heat 14: Louis, Miskowiak, Johnston, Karlsson, 59.33. 1-5, 36-48.
Ipswich from the gate.
Heat 15: Andersen, Protasiewicz, Max, Lindgren, 58.39. 1-5, 37-53.
Ipswich from the gate, with Wolves reduced to team-riding for third and fourth.
