R.Sullivan........2.1.2.1*..........6+1
R.Morton.........1.0.0...............1
R.Ashworth.....0.1*.1*.1*.0...3+3
So the poole pirates sailed into town on the back of a very impressive win away at Peterboro to take on a Wolves team apparently low on confidence and still looking for their first 'official home win of the year.
The track looked well watered wilth plenty of shale on it,so would this be to the home riders liking...............................................
HEAT 1.... MAX,CORREY.Pedersen,Kasprzak.56.25..5-1
Pedersen gated but Mikael past him entering the back straight to be followed by 'The Rocket' in the same place on second lap. An easy maximum from there with Kasprzak tailed off.
HEAT 2..PECYNA,KARLSSON,Morton,Ashworth.57.66..5-1..10-2
Krysztof fromthe gate for a good win a a quick time, Magnus missed the start but went round Morton on 3rd/4th bend and another 5-1 to the Wolves.
HEAT 3..JOHNSTON,LINDGREN,Lindback,Ferjan.59.04.5-1..15-3
Ferjan gated and Lindback missed the first turn completly as he failed to turn the bike. Jonno rounded Ferjan on turn 3 who then looked like the Ferjan of old as Freddie picked him off on lap 2. Lindback put in a late challenge but our 3rd 5-1 was secured.
HEAT 4.HOWE,Sullivan,Ashworth,PECYNA f/x 3-3 18-6
David gated and was easily in front as Krys slid off on the 3rd bend of lap 3 only to get wedged under the air-fence forcing the red lights on and the race awarded.
Heat5..Kasprzak,Pedersen,JOHNSTON,LINDGREN e/f..57.16..1-8..19-14
To the fans amazement Kasper was given a tactical ride from gate 1. He made no mistake as both Wolves missed the start. Freddie seemed to loose a chain whilst at the back on lap3. So an 8-1 to Poole.
HEAT 6..CORREY,MAX,Sullivan,Morton,57.69..5-1,24-15
Any thoughts of a Poole comeback were quickly dispelled as Rocket went under Sullivan on the first circuits back straight, forcing sullivan wide enough to allow Mikael to dive under Sullivan at the start of lap2 taking him wider and ensuring an easy 5-1
HEAT 7..HOWE,KARLSSON,Lindback,Ferjan 56.91.5-2 29-17.
A tactical ride for Lindback but he is no match for David out of the gate. Magnus goes round Ferjan on turn 4 first time round and to everyones amuzement ferjan slows on lap 4 to allow a tailed of Lindback through for double 1
HEAT8..CORREY,Kasprzak,Ashworth,PECYNAf/x,58.19..3-3..32-20
The first running sees Krys gate only to rear alarmingly on the first bend he gets clipped by ronnie and Kasper does an excellent job of spinning out to try and avoid a stricken Ronnie. All 3 get up after a slight delay to see the blue light flashing to exclude Krys.
Ronnie makes no mistake in the re run to share the points
HEAT 9..JOHNSTON,Sullivan,LINDGREN,Morton,58.10..4-2..36-22
Jonno from the gate. Freddie chases Sullivan and makes a dive inside down the back straight on lap 4 only to drift wide entering the final corner allowing sullivan to cut back and retake second spot by about half a bike.
HEAT 10 .Lindback,MAX,CORREY,Ferjan.57.06..3-3..39-25
Lindback gates and dives straight into the dirt where he finds enough speed to comfortably hold off Mikael. Ferjan way adrift behind Ronnie.
HEAT 11..KARLSSON,Pedersen,HOWE,Kasprzak,58.26..4-2.43-27
WOW... The Wolves again gate but Pedersen gives chase,he passes David only for David to cut back inside. Pedersen uses the same inside line again at the end of lap 2 and goes fron 3rd to 1st in the space of the home straight. Magnus though keeps it wound on and ending the 2nd lap has repassed Pedersen who then approaching the final turn sees david come underneath him. Pedersen keeps a mid track line and just pips David to second with only 2 bike lenghts covering all 3 riders. The best race seen at the green so far this season.
HEAT 12.LINDGREN,Ferjan,Ashworth,PECYNA,57.73..3-3.46-30
A very easy gate to tape win for Freddie. Krys misses the gate and tries all race to challenge ashworth to no avail.
HEAT 13. MAX,Pedersen,Sullivan.HOWE,57.70 3-3,49-33
Mikael from the gate. David ytries all lines at the back but fails to pass sullivan
HEAT14..JOHNSTON,Lindback,KARLSSON,Ashworth,58.48..4-2..53-35
The Wolves again gate and team ride for a couple of laps before Jonno pulls clear seemingly leaving Magnus exposed on the inside which is exploited by Lindback on lap 3.
Heat 15 Pedersen,JOHNSTON,MAX,Lindback,58.14..3-3..56-38
Pedersen gates and is chased by both home riders who both seem to want the same piece of track and never get into a serious challenging position. Lindback after messing upthe first corner is never interested.
Five Star ratings:
Weather; ***** A warm end to a sunny day
Track Conditions ***** As said by freddie in his post meet interview 'the best I have ever seen Monmore Green'
Attendance *** Considering the situation an adolecent polecat
Entertainment ***** This is how speedway should be. Thank you to Terry and all the track staff.
Referee-Craig Ackroyd-**** east nights work with no contentious issues.
Man of the match- this is the hardest one I have ever had to do. A massive well done to Magnus , Jonno and Ronnie. I would split it between them if I could, but for his battling performance, with some excellent passing moves only to miss out on a paid max in his last ride i give the award to MAGNUS KARLSSON.
