From Darren...
Final: Stead, Allen, Kennett, Appleton. Olly off gate 4 where he'd made two previous great starts, but Stead inside him off 3. Stead matched him from the start and pushed him out in the muck on the outside. Allen dropped to last but rode a brave race out wide to pass Appleton and Kennett. Stead won in the fastest time of the night 65.0, some times were over 70 seconds tonight. Olly was delighted with second. Amazing that eddie Kennett got 3rd, he only came in as a late replacement for Scott Courtney. He rode steadily and gained from mistakes of others.

Well done Olly, shame David had to pull out! Didn't Edward Kennett do well and he's only 16!!

B Final result was a win for Chris Harris with a brave ride around the boards. He gets the 5th qualifying spot, there is a 6th spot available for a nominated rider - this is David's only hope of progression (if fit). He looks the obvious choice for it. Still no word on why he pulled out tonight.
Thanks to Darren for the updates and everyone who followed.
Cheers, Mark.

David pulled out of the meeting last night,as the track was simply abysmal! I spoke to him last night and he said he was having trouble holding on to the bike with his weak wrist.Apparently, CVS told him to consider withdrawing ,as to not make his wrist any worse. The track was the worst I have ever seen at Sheffield, and on last nights performance I won't be rushing back! The sheffield supporters blamed it on a stock car meeting which happend last Monday.

Belle Vue was really bad last week as well!!!!! The riders werent happy with the track at Wolves on Monday either. That rain the night before didnt do it much good. Chris said his bike was going all over the place
