I feel really sorry to have to make this posting , but do you think it's time to shut the guestbook down . The last couple of weeks it has just become an area for so called Coventry fans- and I feel sorry for the genuine ones such as Gemini who get tarred with same brush - to write utter drivel which they are to ashamed to put their names to. All the regular contributers are now logged on to the forum and no silly postings have come through at all ;D. If any of these idiots did post on the forum Lawt and MM2 could easily delete and block any further postings . What do you all think

The guest book is obviously a target for silly little children to have a dig. People like Sarah Wyer can post almost anything they want to on there and get away with it, and when children see it, they start asking questions. From this point of view, then maybe it is time to look again!

From this point of view, then maybe it is time to look again! I have to agree - maybe it is time for the guest book to go. I am new to speedway but my 11 year old daughter is a big fan. I posted last year on the guestbook as a 'Concerned Mom' and I still am. I don't want her reading some of the abusive immature posts that are made on there. At 11 years old she is far more mature than a lot of the silly posters on the guestbook. I will continue to catch up on the news for her on the fans forum. Glad to see that Adam's performance was better last night, it certainly put a smile back on her face - she is his No. 1 fan!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

I agree aswell. I've enjoyed posting on the guestbook in the past but lately it's become a guestbook for Coventry's silly girls. Everyone who wants to contribute with sensible postings are on this forum now and it's nice to be able to have sensible discussions with fans from all clubs.

As many of you know the Guestbook has been a pain in the nether regions for me for a year or two but many folks begged me to keep it going when I threatened closure after it was abused. Now that we have this Forum I tend to agree that it has seen out its usefulness and that it should close. I will chat to MM2 about it before making a decision.

Sorry, I've only just caught up with this thread. Yes, I've spoken to Lawt and we've agreed that the guestbook should go. I was hoping that it might die a death as a discussion forum and could revert back to an actual guestbook - i.e. "Just found your site, enjoyed it" etc. as I thought that might be nice for Lawt as he puts so much work into maintaining the website. However it looks like the kids have really taken over... who knows where they will go when the guestbook disappears... we don't want to be responsible for a crimewave in the Coventry area! I think all the sensible people have latched onto the Forum now anyway, and we have more control to discourage the idiots here anyway. Cheers, Mark.

It is a shame that it has to go but I for one will be breathing a sigh of relief. As you say.............the streets of Coventry may never be the same! ;D

Keep up the excellent work guys! Yes, we can delete the posts and ban them very easily. OK, they could reregister with a diffferent name and e-mail address every time, but I guearentee they get fed up before I do!
