Why do I keep getting this message when I try to go on another thread please? It's not because there are a lot of people on the forum.

I think it is because there are too many people trying to access the server - not just our Forum.
Proboards have many different forums on each of their servers and if one or more of the forums that is on our server (server 14 our web address suggests) gets a lot of traffic then we can suffer too.
I don't think there's much we can do about it and I guess it is not too bad if it is infrequent. It has only happened to me once recently and I refreshed 30 secs later and all was fine. For a virtually free service (excluding the ad-free payments) it is very good indeed.
If it gets too bad we can post a message on the support forum at Proboards and ask for help/advice.

yeah others are the same ez boards also work along the same principles, also if many american's have these on there websites then peak times over there is going to effect the speeds of these boards here to.

Ferretlady: I have e-mailed you with some sugggestions. The most likely thing is that the activation code e-mail is being filtered out by your ISP AOL. Check their Spam dump or whatever they call it in AOL speak. Cheers Lawt

There is a message on the Proboards support forum about the "Too many connections" message. As Lawt has explained it is when too many users access the proboards server at one time (not just our website). They have apologised for the problems which are due to a higher than expected level of use due to the upgrade to the new version of the forum. Quite simply more people are signing on to see what the new style forum looks like. This should settle down soon or they will increase the capacity to solve the problem.
