The Wolfcry Speedway Fans Forum aims to be a fun and friendly community of speedway fans. We have always had our own guidelines – unwritten rules if you prefer – but as the forum becomes more popular we feel it has become necessary to make these public. If you have any problems with these guidelines please contact the forum moderators on admin@wolfcry.co.uk.
By becoming a member of the Wolfcry Forum and posting messages you agree to be bound by the rules. Anyone who is found to abuse these rules may have their access to the forum suspended or permanently revoked. All opinions expressed on this forum are those of the individual concerned and do not necessarily represent the views of the owners or moderators. This forum has no connection whatsoever with the promoters and management of Wolverhampton Speedway and they have no responsibility for the contents.
Due to the real-time nature of the forum, it is impossible for moderators to review messages or confirm the validity of information before it is posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for any of the contents. If anyone feels that a message posted on the forum is offensive or particularly objectionable, please contact the moderators on admin@wolfcry.co.uk. We have the ability to edit or remove any of the messages posted on the forum if we feel this is necessary and will make every effort to do so within a reasonable time frame. Be aware however that this is a manual process and we may not be able to edit or remove such postings immediately. We reserve the right to amend or delete such messages for any reason whatsoever. You remain solely responsible for the contents of your messages and agree to indemnify the moderators, and their agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission and storage of your message(s).
Starting Topics
Before you start a thread, please check to see if a similar thread has already been started. Please make your title descriptive, reflecting the topic you're addressing, rather than a generic title such as "Question" or "I Need Help." Please do not post thread titles in ALL CAPS (the only exception to this rule is for moderators or admin who need to draw attention to an urgent site issue).
Shouting and Crazy Text
Please do not post messages in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS; this is the Internet version of shouting, and is irritating to many posters. PlEAsE dO nOt PoSt LiKe ThIs (it makes posts extremely hard to read), and don't get carried away with excessive punctuation (posting dozens of exclamation points, etc.). It's also a good idea to run long posts through a spell check; doing so demonstrates respect for your fellow posters, which will make them more willing to listen to what you have to say. Please post in plain language avoiding the use of text abbreviations which many people find extremely annoying.
Anonymity
Public forums such as this one run the risk of being abused by users who believe they can hide behind a veil of anonymity. Please note that this is not the case. You have to provide a working e-mail address when you register on the forum and all posts are branded with a unique ID number which is visible to the administrators and can be used to track down anyone who misuses the forum. We understand that users may be reluctant to use their full name or give personal details on the internet and we are happy to operate a system of usernames. Please note that any messages posted on this forum are in the public domain and are often read by the person you are discussing. While the moderators fully support the right to free speech, as a general rule don’t post anything you wouldn’t be happy to say to your subject in person!
Attacks on Other Contributors
Vicious attacks on other contributors will not be tolerated. Disagreements between contributors are fine, but personal attacks on character, intelligence, etc. are not. Attack the post, not the contributor. Any personal disputes between contributors should be conducted via private email messages. If you are attacked by another contributor, please do not retaliate; make a moderator aware of the posting and let us handle the problem.
Trolls
A troll is a contributor whose sole intent in posting is to be a disturbance to the community. Trolls may post excessively inflammatory or offensive messages with the intention of upsetting people, "flame" or insult, or post the same message repeatedly on multiple boards to take up space and disrupt the forums. Posters engaging in this type of behavior lose their rights of membership and will be removed.
For Younger Forum Members
The Forum is a great community filled with wonderful people. It's easy to feel as if the people you talk to every day online are friends whom you can trust. However, we cannot guarantee that everyone is trustworthy. Please don't give out personal details, photographs, or any other information that could be used to identify you, such as information about your family, where you live or the school you go to. Never arrange to meet someone you've only ever previously met on the Internet without first telling your parents, getting their permission and taking a responsible adult with you. The first meeting should always be in a public place.
Advertising
As a free forum we cannot accept posts advertising for commercial activities. The adverts at the top of the page are the responsibility of the forum hosts and we do not have any control over them or recive any income. The only exceptions to this are posts from forum members advertising speedway related charity, benefit, testimonial events etc. Please clear this with one of the moderators before posting.
Finally please don’t be put off by the publication of these guidelines. We want the forum to be a fun and friendly place that people are happy to be involved in - please help us to keep it that way.
