Firstly may I offer my sincere apologies for the late writing of this repot. As I got called to work away from work all week this is the first chance I have had to compile. I just hope my memory has stood up to the passage of time.

Wolves v Ipswich Elite League B 11/09/06
Parry’s International Wolves:
Peter Karlsson 3,3,3,6,2* = 17+1
Christian Hefenbrock 0,0,R,1 = 1
Ronnie Correy 0,0,1,1 = 2
Billy Hamill 3,3,3,3,3 = 15
Freddie Lindgren 2 3 2 2* = 9+1
Ben Wilson 0,0,0, = 0
Mattheu Tresarrieu 2,0,1,0,R = 3
Ipswich Witches:
Piotr Protasiewicz 1*,1*,2,1,0, = 5+1
Kim Jansson 2,1*,2,2*,3,0 = 10+2
Robert Miskowiak 2,1*,2,3,2 = 10+1
R/R
Mark Loram 3,2,2,1,1, = 9
Daniel King 3,1*,0,2* = 6+2
Tobias Kroner 1,1,3,0,1* = 6+1
Ipswich returned to Monmore only a couple of weeks after suffering a heavy defeat at the hand of a determined Wolves outfit. Weakened by the loss of Chris Louis with his shoulder injury many were predicting a similar score. However Wolves with the much publicised loss of Magnus Karlsson and the favoured William Lawson on exam duty, could Ben Wilson and Redcar’s Frenchman Mattheu Tresarrieu outscore a stronger looking Witches reserve duo. Wolves were also looking for the bonus point afer suffering a 43-53 defeat earlier at Foxhall.
The toss was won by PK who opted for gates 2+4 in the opening heat
Heat 1: KARLSSON,Jansson,Pepe,HEFENBROCK. 55.34 3-3
The Ipswich duo made the gate but PK ran a tight line off turn 2 and was never challenged. Christian locked up on turn 1 and was well adrift for the remainder of the race.
Heat 2: King,TRESARRIEU,Kroner,WILSON. 56.84. 2-4, 5-7
Again the Witches were quicker into turn 1 but Matrode a fast outside line to take kroner down the back straight just avoiding the fence in the process. He continued his leg trailing mid/wide line to just hold off a white line riding Kroner. King was an easy winner with Wilson a poor 4th.
Heat 3: HAMILL,Miskowiak,Jansson,CORREY. 56.35. 3-3, 8-10
An even start but Billy rode the best first turn to lead down the back straight and cantered home. Ronnie battled at the back but never got close enough to Jansson to seriously challenge.
Heat 4: Loram,LINDGREN,Kroner,TRESARRIEU. 55.86. 2-4,10-14
Loram gated and rode a mid track line throughout with Freddie trying both in and outside but eventually lost by about 2 lengths. Kroner this time easily beating his opposite reserve.
Heat 5: HAMILL,Jansson,Pepe,CORREY. 57.04. 3-3,13-17
Ronnie swapped to his second bike on the back straight with 30 seconds remaining but made no impact in the race as billy romped to another win with the Ipswich pair team riding in second and third.
Heat 6: KARLSSON,Loram,King,HEFENBROCK. 56.25. 3-3, 16-20
Christian again messed up the first corner and his race was over. PK was put under tremendous pressure from Loram getting the verdict by probably ¼ wheel.
Heat 7: LINDGREN,Pepe,Miskowiak,WILSON. 56.89. 3-3,19-23
Freddie this time made a hash of the first turn but proceeded to chase down the witches going outside Miskowiak on turn 4 before cutting back under Pepe on the next lap. Ben again well adrift of the 2 Poles.
Heat 8: Kroner,Jansson,TRESSARIEU,HEFENBROCK (EF) 58.71. 1-5, 20-28.
The Witches doubled there lead to 8 points in a shambolic heat which always looked dodgy for the Wolves pair. Tres this time messed up the first bend and slid off but quickly remounted to continue as Christian tried to pass the leader Kroner with an outside swoop on turn 4. This move sadly ended with the German rolling onto the centre green having shed a chain. This left the witches pair to amble round half a lap infront of our sole remaining rider.
Heat 9: HAMILL,Loram,CORREY,King. 56.42. 4-2, 24-30
Both Wolves managed to gate better than Loram who took no time in passing Ronnie entering turn 3. All riders ended in these positions well spaced
Heat 10: KARLSSON,Miskowiak,HEFENBROCK,Kroner 57.08. 4-2, 28-32
King was announced as R/R but failed to meet the 2 mins so his fellow reserve Kroner was given the ride. PK gated and was an easy winner. Christian gated level with Kroner but only managed to push him wide into the dirt onto the racing line. Christian however found a fast inside line and on lap 3 sneaked into third for his first point of the night.
Heat 11: Jansson,LINDGREN,Pepe, WILSON. 56.88. 2-4, 30-36.
Jansson got the better of Freddie in the first turn and proceeded to ride on the fastest line throughout the race as Freddie tried every line on the track to pass all to no avail. Pepe trundled round in third well in front of a very unhappy looking Wilson
Heat 12: Miskowiak,King,CORREY,TRESARRIEU. 57.37. 1-5, 31-41
Both Wolves totally missed the gate and the race was over from there. The gap was now 10 points with only 3 races left. Tactical time?
Heat 13: KARLSSON (TACT),LINDGREN,Loram,Pepe. 56.8. 8-1, 39-42
Peter was given the responsibility of getting the 6 points which he duly obliged with as both Wolves made the gate and easily held off Loram. Pepe was well outpaced and retired on lap 3.
Heat 14: HAMILL,Miskowiak,Kroner,TRESARRIEU. 57.2. 3-3, 42-45
Billy ensured a last heat decider as he rode the wide line to gain an easy 3 points. Tres was challenging well for third until his bike gave up on lap 2.
Heat 15: HAMILL,KARLSSON,Loram,Jansson. 57.38. 5-1,47-46
Wolves took gates 1+3 and made good use of them to lead throughout. Loram though put PK under constant pressure and on a couple of occasions it was only PK’s experience which held Loram back. Billy slowed down exiting the final turn to help out his team mate as the 3 riders crossed the line spaced by about 3 lengths.
Comment/Summary:
During a week with much talking about Magnus we all must have missd the news of a Wolves name change to the Wizards and a change of manager to Dick Turpin as they conjured up daylight robbery to somehow gain the win. All looked lost until the final 3 heats when the only Wolves riders on the night could team up. Ipswich were dreadfully unlucky to lose this and had Chris Louis been riding the number 4 slot may have yielded more than the 5 points R/R amassed. Our faint play off flame still flickers but the Aces may be a stronger force next week.
Weather: Started dry but a slight drizzle started mid meeting but caused no problems to either riders or track
Track: As the previous week not up to it’s expected superb best. Only seemed to be 1 racing line in the latter races.
Attendance: An average sized Autuminal stoat
Wolves Performance: The scorechart says it all
Entertainment: Not the greatest of meetings. Simply the last 3 races made it seem a good meeting.
Referee: ?? Nothing at all to do. Easy night at the office.
Man of the Match: Tough one as nothing to chose between PK and Billy but due to having the responsibility of the black and white helmet and twice having to fend off a rejuvenated Mark Loram I give it to PETER KARLSSON
Rider Ratings: (now on a scale of ten with 6 being the average expectation)
Peter Karlsson: 10 An awesome captains performance
Christian Hefenbrock: 2 Unlucky in heat 8 but otherwise no where near the level what either we or Christian would expect
Ronnie Correy: 2 Another very poor night on seemingly substandard machinery
Billy Hamill: 10 Untroubled all night.
Freddie Lindgren: 9 Only let down by a defeat to Jansson in heat 11 when the track gave him no help what so ever.
Ben Wilson: 1 Obvious that Ben is struggling roung the tight Monmore track and his confidence looks at rock bottom
Matthieu Tresarrieu: 5 Attacked the track and deserved more for all the effort he put in
