PRE MEETING REPORT... 7.25pm from Lawt at Poole. Lawt says he's booked into a bostin' hotel. The good news is his receptionist is Swedish. The bad news is its a bloke. Weather is described as almost tropical compared to Monday. From the Wolfcry crew's vantage point on the 2nd bend by the fence, they enjoyed a great sunset, followed by the beautiful sight of the orange moon rising slowly above the grandstand, batheing the stadium in a warm orange glow. Track looks slick on the inside with a bit of grip round the outside. The hangmans noose has gone from the 2nd bend, he's bought Big Bad Wolf's programmes and err... that's all for now folks. Teams confirmed as above.

Heat 1. Kp gates first but is passed by about 20 yds out. PK is close behind the Poole pair for 4 laps but can't find the drive to pass.
Heat 2. Very easy 5-1 for home pair from the gate. Wolves pair simply didn't have the pace required to trouble the home riders.
Not exactly a great start but hopefully we can make some setup changes in time for the following races.

Heat 3. Freddie gates. Lindback has his front wheel at least over the white line on 1st bend... Walasek rounds Lindgren on bend 3... Lindback inside Freddie on 2nd lap 1st bend... Freddie back past him... Lindback sweeps round outside on 3rd lap 3rd bend. Magnus way behind at the back.
Heat 4. Kasprzak edges ahead on 1st bend and beats Hamill quite comfortably. Christian holds 3rd place for 2 laps or so until Davidsson passes round outside on lap 3 bend 3/4. More encouraging from Christian.
Wolves fans managed the season's first "Come on Billy" without too many problems. The first "Bring back Johnno" shout was also heard! ;D

Heat 5. KP makes a great start but too wide on 2nd bend, scrapes fence and Lindback gets past. Good ride from KP from then on, kept up with him. PK nowhere at the back, didn't contend at all.
Heat 6. Comfortable 5-1. Lawson close to Hamill for a lap then drops back. Boyce pulls away from Hamill.

7. Poole first from the gate again. Wolves gating awful tonight apart from KP... why no gating practice on Monday? Freddie passes Davidsson on 3rd lap, 3rd bend on outside. Good pass. 8. Christian gates but Boyce is quickly past. Pecyna passes Christian and sets off after Boyce. Great effort from KP who can't quite pass him. Wolves top man tonight! We've got a 3-3!!! ;D Lets celebrate!

For Sugababe... sensational news - the tramp is inside the stadium tonight! 9. Poole gate first again but Billy passes Walasek on outside of 2nd lap 4th bend, a good passing spot there tonight. Lawson had no chance in that race. 10. Excellent 1st bend from Freddie from the inside gate. Very aggressive, great ride. Bjarne makes up a lot of ground and it looks like he will pass on the 4th lap but Freddie wakes up and puts the power on again for the win. Magnus nowhere again, a poor night for him. 11. PK looks back to form in this one. Gates and pulls away for the win. Kasprzak in 2nd but a superb move from KP as he flies round the outside on the 4th bend and holds out Kasprzak for 4 laps! 5-1 to Wolves! Lawt says KP's bike is a rocketship tonight. He is flying and still our most impressive rider. ;D Interval now.

Interval thoughts...
Gating letting us down and we took ages to get into the meeting, however we've won the last 4 heats 13-11 with no tactical changes.
Positives... Pecyna has been excellent and Freddie is right on the pace and improving. Christian looks quite promising and is improving too. PK rode a much better 3rd ride.
Negatives... Magnus well off the pace. Hamill struggling from the starts but otherwise OK.

12. Great recovery from Magnus. Gates and rides a fast outside line for the win.
13. Pedersen wins in fastest time of the night. Hamill challenges hard in 2nd. PK on double points but finishes last.
14. Freddie on a double points ride. Lindback wins a good battle with Freddie. Lawson looked more competitive in this race.
15. PK excluded on 2minutes as he gets out on track but too late. No Wolves replacement announced and eventully the mystery man is excluded on 2 minutes too! Bizarre. 3 riders only and Hamill gets a roller, leads into 1st bend and the red lights come on. In the re-re-rerun Poole gate for an easy 5-1.

Final thoughts from Lawt...
Very poor start but we came back into it over the last half of the meeting. Both Peter and Billy Hamill were not as good as expected. Freddie not quite at his best but was apparently running in a new engine. The race where Pedersen almost caught him was due to Freddie getting tired! First meeting and all that.
Magnus looked out of it until his last ride when he gated and won in fine style. Pecyna was excellent, his bike was very fast. The two reserves were a little off the pace and need more experience.
So not a great result by any means but very early days. Off to Peterborough tomorrow for another warm up challenge.
