6 heat winners out of seven (although I expect JBJ to take the vulture ride in heat 8) - contrast this with the start of last season when we struggled to win races, even at home.
I like what I read so far tonight

Me too, Rob... Much more encouraging than last season (there was only one way to go, really!)

Christian gates again in 8 but Jensen rides round him on third turn. Magnus has an 'off' race so expect a 5-1 in 10!
Heat 9 stopped after Ostergaard falls under pressure from Ronnie. Rich reckons there was no contact but Ronnie is excluded from the rerun. Both riders up and fine.

OK Martin, I give up... Who is that character on the left?

OK Martin, I give up... Who is that character on the left? Vivian Stanshall. Ex Bonzo Dog Band, although the avatar is taken from the cover of 'Sir Henry At Rawlinson End'.

Sullivan gives FREDDIE a shove on the first turn in the rerun and they are on a 5-1. Ostergaard is easily passed though but Sullivan has gone.
Don't know about the Urban Spaceman: he doesn't exist!
Well we WERE on a 5-1 in 10 right up to the moment Magnus dropped off.
Four points up and were it 12 months ago we would be expecting to lose.......
But this is 2006 and we shouldn't concede any heat advantages from here.

I love the optimism, Martin... I don't disagree either.

Another win for BILLY in 11. Good race with Andersen for a couple of laps but Hamill is very quick tonight and he leaves him behind. Ben Wilson has a good race with Hall for third and does well to give us a six point lead going into the interval.
Elsewhere it is Belle Vue 27 Coventry 18 and Reading 24 Swindon 24 .
I feel a beer coming on.

Well we WERE on a 5-1 in 10 right up to the moment Magnus dropped off. Any info on the manner of his fall? I am concerned at the moment with Magnus' form and hoping he gets it right soon. Which, I hasten to add, I think he will; Magnus has looked promising from the first time I saw him ride. I remember one great performance from him in the old BLC at Exeter when he was flying. An on form Magnus would make a huge difference to the team at the moment. C'mon Maggie!

Well done, Ben!
Beer? Hmmm.... Sounds wonderful! (Not sure the American overlords would appreciate my imbibing at the moment).

Magnus has gated three times and has been a little unlucky by all accounts. I remember well seeing him as one of our number 8s three years ago and he was flying. He was under a lot of pressure from Jensen when he fell. Maybe some contact but he got up straight away and race continued.
Seems like Billy is fastest tonight.
