Very happy with the result... probably too late for the playoffs - I still can't believe we lost to Swindon twice at home, but there you go. Well done to the lads tonight - very good result although a very lopsided scorechart.

Just shows there are all sorts of ways to win a meeting. Two five ride away maximums. I'll wager it has been a long time since that happened.
Gives PA his get out for the programme on Monday.

BTW, a little bit of hassle on the terraces tonight. When Watt fell in heat 14 this idiot from Oxford comes out with "Last time you came here you nearly killed one of our riders..." Apparently Wolfie put him right in no uncertain terms. There's one at every track isn't there?

Apparently Wolfie put him right in no uncertain terms. There's one at every track isn't there? I can just hear Wolfie's retort in my ears, as I type. It's so sad it makes you laugh. What's sadder is that there is probably more than one at every track. And as for "8"'s pertinent comment....that was my first ever meeting, what a way to start at speedway.

Not sure I follow, "8". Is it a reference to forgiving a rider involved in the accident?
That's horrific Rob, I'm surprised you ever became a fan.

Not sure I follow, "8". Is it a reference to forgiving a rider involved in the accident? That's horrific Rob, I'm surprised you ever became a fan. The Oxford 'fan' who made the comment tonight is the sort of person who needs to think first before opening their mouth. To turn an on track accident into an attack on a team that has just beaten theirs is pretty despicable. I posted the Gary Peterson comment because that WAS a fatal accident that occurred between the same teams. It happened over thirty years ago. I still think quite often about Gary and wish he was still with us. We all expressed considerable concern for Ales and would do so for any speedway rider injured on track. When you witness the death of a rider it does give you a different perspective I believe. We are passionate about our speedway but we should also be able to be dispassionate when more important things than a heat advantage is at stake.
