Blimey that was a last gasp effort. After finishing mowing the lawn at 7:15pm a trip to Monmore was out so went down the gym to watch Peterborough-Reading, good match, the end result flatered PB somewhat.
I agree on the 3 heat leaders, but whats happened to Christian???

Thanks Martin. We certainly robbed them of the win and as exciting as the finish was, I must admit the victory did have a hollow ring about it at the end. How many times did that sort of thing happen to us last season though? Maybe not that dramatic but a similar script. In the final analysis, Ipswich needed Loram to split our pairings in heat 13 and 15 just once, and he couldn't quite manage it. I don't like this double points rule, but it's interesting to note that under the traditional "6 points down tactical sub" rule we would still have won. A 5-1 in heat 13 would have put us 6 down, PK in heat 14 for a guaranteed 5-1 with Billy, then the 5-1 in heat 15 would have made it 46-44. Just shows that the 15 heat format always heavily favours sides with strong heat leaders... did we mention that at all last season? 47 points last night was 41 from the heat leaders, 3 gifted points in heats 2, 8 and 12 and just 3 points earned by the other 4 riders. Shocking!
