Heat details:
Heat 1: Nicholls, Correy, Bager, Jansson. 59.0.
Nicholls all the way, Ronnie and Bager team-rode Jansson out of it. Track is usual Ipswich fare, but rain is forecast for later.
Heat 2: Pedersen, Hamill, Bridger, Hefenbrock (f.rem). 59.7.
Pedersen gated and led all the way. Christian was second but went wide and fell against the air fence at turn three, remounting to finish. Track is now being watered.
Heat 3: Skornicki, Shields, Barker, Miskowiak. 60.6.
Shields gated but Skornicki found drive on the outside of turn two and rounded him to lead.
Heat 4: Loram, Lindgren, King, Kerr. 60.1.
Ipswich gated but Freddie went inside King on the second bend. Chris tried the outside line on both of them but had to shut off. King pushed Freddie on lap three but he recovered to close up on Loram by the finish.
Heat 5: Kennett, Norris, Bager, Correy. 60.9.
Bager gated but Kennett went outside him on turn two, before Doris went inside him on the back straight, Eastbourne team-riding their way home. Ronnie lifted at the start and was nowhere.
Heat 6: Nicholls, Shields, Barker, Jansson. 59.9.
Best race so far. Nicholls and Shields side by side for two laps, then Nicholls rode his front wheel over the white line and just got an inside run down the home straight.
Heat 7: Loram, King, Hamill, Hefenbrock. 60.7.
From the gate - Wolves nowhere.
Heat 8: Lindgren, Norris, Kennett, Kerr. 60.8.
Freddie seems interested at least! He gated and held off Doris for the four laps, despite repeated advances from the Eastbourne man. Also...it's spitting!
Heat 9: Miskowiak, Pedersen, Skornicki, Bridger (ret). 60.5.
Miskowiak shot out of the start and Pedersen couldn't catch him - I think this says a lot about the track! Bridger's bike packed up after about three feet. Now drizzling.
Heat 10 (awarded): Nicholls, Lindgren, Kerr, Jansson (f.exc), no time.
Ipswich gated but Jansson went out wider and wider and eventually hit the air fence on lap four. Freddie ran into his bike and was sent flying over his handlebars, with Kerr also laying down. Race awarded, Jansson excluded, riders both OK but one of the St Johns personnel fell while running to check on them and now requires the ambulance!!
Heat 11: Shields, Bager, Barker, Correy. 61.5
Shields gated, Bager attempted a couple of moves and was level at one stage, but opted to consolidate second as Barker closed. Ronnie third on the first lap but Barker came through. Spitting again now.
St John's staff member has gone off in the ambulance with a knee injury - don't think I've heard of that happening before!
Heat 12: King, Loram, Norris, Kennett. 61.4.
Loram gated, and them saw King coming round the outside, so let him go and shepherded him home for the 5-1.
Heat 13: Skornicki, Miskowiak, Hefenbrock, Hamill. 61.4.
Ispwich from the gate. Billy was third but tried a wide line, which only saw him fall further and further behind.
Heat 14 (re-run x 2): Pedersen, Kerr, Birgder (f.exc), Lindgren (f.exc). 61.9.
Freddie fell on the first bend, possibly after contact with Kerr (unconfirmed). Freddie OK but excluded.
Rerun: Pedersen led with Bridger and Kerr battling behind, Bridger tried the inside into turn three but spun round and fell, Bridger excluded.
Rerun 2: Pedersen cleared away from Kerr.
(Further update on Freddie's fall - another spectator elsewhere in the stadium said that Pedersen and Freddie touched shoulders going into the first turn - possible case for all four back.)
Heat 15: Norris, Nicholls, King, Kennett. 61.0.
King reserve for Jansson. Norris gated with Nicholls trying everything to pass, a last turn cutback from outside to inside seeing him just lose out by half a length. King came out on top in his own separate race with Kennett.
Heat 16: Miskowiak, Skornicki, Correy, Bager. 61.4.
Ipswich well clear from the gate - according to JFB "Ipswich had rockets up their backsides, we had damp squibs!" Close for third but they think Ronnie got it.
Heat 17: Shields, Hefenbrock, Barker, Hamill (ret). 61.9.
Wolves gated
but Billy went from first to last and pulled off on lap two. Christian and Shields banged elbows going into turn three of thefirst lap, with the Aussie coming out on top.
Heat 18: Loram, Pedersen, Bridger, King. 61.3.
Very close first turn before Loram picked up drive and shot between the two Eastbourne riders into the lead.
That's all folks!
