6. Hynek Stichauer 1-0-0-1* = 2 + 1

Coventry 41
1. Chris Harris 3-3-6^-3-1* = 16 + 1
2. Ben Barker 0-0-2-1 = 3
3. Olly Allen 3-1*-1*-1 = 6 + 2
4. Edward Kennett 1-2-2-3-2 = 10
5. Rory Schlein 1-2-1-0 = 4
6. Jordan Frampton 2-0-0-0 = 2
7. Joel Parsons 0-0-0-0 = 0
Heat 1: Harris 55.15, Karlsson, Klindt, Barker 3-3 3-3
Wolves won the toss and took gates 1&3. From the gate, Nicolai almost got to the first bend ahead, but Harris swept across and into the lead. PK soon moved past Nic on bends 3 & 4 before giving chase after Harris. As usual in Heat 1 both were riding a pretty tight line. PK made up ground but couldn't find a way by. Nicolai was not too far back in 3rd, Barker way back.
Heat 2: Proctor 57.22, Frampton, Stichauer, Parsons 4-2 7-5
Excellent gate from Proctor, sweeping around the field and into the lead down the back straight. Rode a very controlled tidy race to take the win. Stichauer forced his way into 3rd on the back straight and held it fairly comfortabley ahead of a struggling Parsons.
Heat 3: Allen 56.56, Skornicki, Kennett, Woffinden 2-4 9-9
Both Wolves riders missed the start here, Tai woefully so. Adam soon took up the chase, forcing his was past Kennet on lap 2, cutting inside him off turn 2. He chased down Allen and a brave cut-back on turn 4 saw him lose out by about a wheel. Tai never really in contention.
Heat 4: Lindgren 56.28, Proctor, Schlein, Parsons 5-1 14-10
Twitchy first attempt at the start with Fred moving on about 3 occasions! At the second time of asking, both he and Ty made superb gates. Down the back straight Schlein came alongside Ty and edged ahead going into turn 3, however he was carrying too much speed and went out too wide. Ty took advantage, cutting back to retake 2nd. From there he rode a good steady race to keep Schlein at bay!
Heat 5: Harris 55.65, Woffinden, Skornicki, Barker 3-3 17-13
A good start by Harris saw him win with relative ease. Much better from Tai who quickly moved into 2nd but couldn't match the sheer pace of Harris who was riding wide and in the dirt. Barker a long way back.
Heat 6: Karlsson 56.81, Schlein, Klindt, Frampton 4-2 21-15
A tight 1st bend saw Nic forced out wide. Schlein just had the edge, but PK kept a tight line and got the drive down the back straight to take the lead. Nic was briefly behind Frampton but soon moved into 3rd.
Heat 7: Lindgren 56.24, Kennett, Allen, Stichauer 3-3 24-18
Another excellent start from Freddie. He rode a wide line for 2 laps before switching to hugging the inside. This allowed the outside riding Kennett to close a little and put some pressure on. Freddie was constantly looking over his shoulder, checking how close he was and persisted with the inside line. He had enough straight line speed to keep him at bay.
Heat 8: Klindt 56.00, Barker, Proctor, Frampton 4-2 28-20
Blistering start from Nicolai saw him sweep around the outside and away. As usual once in front he was very very fast and was never going to be caught. Ty gated in 2nd but was a little cautious entering turn 3 and Barker managed to swoop around him. Barker then rode a good race and Ty never really threatened after that.
Heat 9: Woffinden 56.52, Skornicki, Schlein, Parsons 5-1 33-21
First time of asking saw Schlein and Skornicki clash entering turn 1. Adam slid out, with Tai narrowly avoiding him but taking a tumble in the process. Luckily no harm done and both were up on their feet quickly.
In the re-run the referee released the tapes very quickly and Schlein was caught napping. Adam made a great start and Tai flew round the outside of turns 1 & 2 to hit the front down the back straight. Around turns 3 & 4 Tai pointed to the inside for Adam. It appeared Adam wanted to be on the dirt line exiting the corner also so he slowed a little allowing Tai to go clear and then rode a good line to keep Schlein at bay.
Heat 10: Karlsson 56.60, Kennett, Allen, Klindt 3-3 36-24
Nicolai almost made the gate again, just getting the door closed by the fast starting Kennett and Allen who led into turn 1, however both drifted a little wide and PK, who had made a bad start from 4, managed to get his wheels in line the quickest to surge past them both down the back straight. Kennett gave chase and kept PK honest but was never likely to pass. Nicolai didn't ever look like passing Allen.
Heat 11: Harris (tac) 56.74, Lindgren, Barker, Stichaeur 2-7 38-31
A good start from Harris saw him take a fairly comfortable victory. Freddie challenged briefly at the start of the 2nd lap, but Harris from then on drew clear. Barker a comfortable 3rd ahead of Hynek.
Heat 12: Proctor NT, Woffinden, Allen, Frampton F-Ex.
Another great 1st and 2nd turn from the Wolves boys saw them hit the front. From there Tai treated us to some team riding that the watching Ermolenko would have been proud of. He hugged the inside the whole race ensuring there was no way Allen would challenge. Frampton slid off at the back on lap 3, and as they had entered the last lap the referee awarded the race.
Heat 13: Harris 57.30, Karlsson, Lindgren, Schlein
This race will take some beating this season! Unbelievable stuff!
Schlein made the start from 3, with PK in close attendance. Again PK got his wheels in line quickest and hit the front down the backstraight. In turns 3 & 4 Freddie performed a superb cut-back to pass both Coventry riders and join PK in second. Then the race began in earnest... Pk was entering fairly tight and drifting wide to catch the dirt line coming out.. Freddie was hooking up tight on the inside... and Harris was blasting out in the dirt! Lap 2 Harris came alongside Freddie down the backstraight and about a length behind PK, but Freddie drove hard into turn 3 to shut the door.. Next time round however Harris got his nose in front of Freddie on the backstraight before surprising PK by diving inside him into turn 3. He came through at some speed and was out wide as it was, PK had to scrub some speed off and switch to the inside behind Fred who had again held a very tight line... Out of the 4th turn Fred was back alongside Harris with PK just behind. Fred drove hard into turn 1 going out wide into the dirt on the exit as a result, Harris performed an excellent switch to emerge out of turn 2 mid-track and back ahead... meanwhile PK had held a tight inside line to be challenging again inside him! Down the back straight and into turns 3 & 4.. Harris mid track, Freddie trying to go round him and PK under him. Harris held on by about a bike length from the Wolves duo. Absolutely amazing race, which I am unable to do justice too in words!
Heat 14: Kennett 57.84, Skornicki, Stichaeur, Parsons 3-3 49-38
Good start from Kennett carried him to victory. Skornicki challenged briefly but couldn't get close enough. Stichaeur was a fairly comfortable 3rd when Parson came down again (although Parsons was closing).
Heat 15: Karlsson 57.14, Kennett, Harris, Lindgren 3-3 52-41
Kennett once again made the start, but once again PK switched and got his wheels in line to power to the front. This time there were no mistakes as he raced clear to victory. Harris found himself on the inside early on, and with the wide riding Kennett ahead of him he couldn't get on the line to give chase. He soon settled on team riding to keep Freddie at the back.
So, a victorious start to the season for the new look Wolves in front of a very good crowd.
PK 8/10 - Has lost none of his track craft and ability. Those who are worried that Father Time has caught up with him... sorry, not yet. Plenty of life in him yet! Wasn't as quick as Harris but knew the lines to ride. May have thought it was Freddie inside him in Heat 13 but made no mistakes in 15.
Nicolai 6.5/10
Did his job in the first 3 races. Paid 2nd, a third and then a win in Heat 8 which he needs to make his own this season. One blip in his last race, but then he was against Allen & Kennett.
Tai 7.5/10
Apparently was very nervous before his first ride. There was a Sky Sports crew in the pits following his every move. Totally missed the start, but recovered well and was superb by meeting end. First race aside, couldn't have asked for more!
Adam 7.5/10
Excellent return for the donut king! A superb race to battle his way from 4th to 2nd in his opener, and consistent scoring throughout the meeting. His partnership with Tai is the bedrock of our team. They both notched 7pts which is exactly what we need.
Freddie 6.5/10
Won his first two with ease, having made blistering starts. Seemed to lack the raw speed he normally has at Monmore and that showed in his later battles with Harris. However, he was in contention and there is nothing to worry about here!
Hynek 5.5/10
Difficult to give a rating here... Based upon the practice last week he perhaps deserves a 9! However, he did ok. Picked up 3rd place in Heat 2 and then a further 3rd in Heat 14. Much better start than many expected. Lets see if he can build on it.
Ty 9/10
Has to be man of the match, only beaten in Heat 8. Could so easily have had a maximum. Excellent gating, stylish riding, this boy is going places!
As I said earlier, a good start to the season and although we beat them 53-37 last year and then went on to be awful, I think everyone there tonight can see that this team is going to be quite different. I am sure we will learn more on Friday but at this point I am confident we will have a good season!
