The shortest ever updates thread confirms that Wolves supporters are taking a pragmatic view of this season's performances. A win, but under performance again. Thursday's return meeting (live on WM) will confirm our role as also rans for 2011. Like it or not, we have been overtaken by clubs with far more ambition.

I find myself constantly surprised at how badly we're doing. I thought this would be a convincing win and even now I expect them to win at Birmingham. Eventually perhaps I'll have to realise the team simply isn't very good. I keep expecting them to click, maybe it's just not going to happen.

I thought too that the team could challenge for play-offs, and would worse-case be midtable (which of course means challenging for the playoffs!) It seems that mid-order inconsistency (too early for Ludvig to be a second string, and Ty is having second season syndrome) and weak reserves, plus inconsistency between Tai and PK (when one is good the other is off the boil), is hurting us too much.
There's still quite a few points up for grabs but I just cannot see away wins from anywhere - and that's what we need to make the playoffs.
