At the green at the moment.....Sowka is dire. Why can't we replace him before the league starts? Im unclear on this also. I believe that when teams are declared they cant change till 4H 4A. Im assuming teams are already declared.

Even though Freddie's rides only gave us 5 actual points, there are questions that need to be raised here. No doubt Coventry look like one of the best two teams in the league on paper right now, but we should be doing better. We have a fabulous top 2, stale middle order and rookie tail. Meantime Coventry's 2nd year EL rider Kenny Larsen gets paid 13 whilst our 3 and 4 seem to struggle continually.
I like Ty and Nic as riders and individuals, but really we need better from both and fast. Ricky is head an shoulders above Thomas and on nights where there is no Ricky, the tail is vulnerable. It would have perhaps been better to use Thomas last week and Ricky this (admit that Thomas did need track time tonight despite weakening the team).
It also makes me concerned with the future of the EL - NZ GP was fabulous for the sport and it won't stop there - Australia and USA will I'm sure want to come on board with the GP's now and those races will be early in the season before Sweden and Poland start. Is the GP riders EL day done? Do we shorten the schedule even more?
One idea would be to put in a squad system - when Freddie is absent you bring in Adam for him and someone like Fisher for Ricky. Gives the squad more depth and given the point return for Freddie we would have done much better tonight under such a guise.
I am also concerned that tonights result and two home defeats in 3 meetings could harm the club. 17 quid is a lot of money and the fans over the years have (in general not just at Wolves had to pay more for less - less races, less top riders and now less league meetings). I hope the crowds do not drop based onn tonight. The promotion did try to give the fans a consistent schedule with these extra matches and that should be applauded on one hand. I hope it doesn't backfire with lower crowds which would justify shutting up shop for 3 weeks next year as some clubs have.

That was really really bad tonight. Thing is nobody really seems bothered down there.

I'm really glad that we went for a more balanced side rather than keeping PK and a top heavy side ;D ;D We're doing so much better than last year aren't we Wolfie
