You are the glue that holds together Steve - did you stay home to watch David Howe?

You are the glue that holds together Steve - did you stay home to watch David Howe? How we could do with him in reserve! Fully agree. David was a confidence rider - 2007 he had loads 2008 he had none. Given that he can get confidence in the PL, he could be an ace double upper ala Fisher for Swindon 2009. Though to be fair its almost like a PL match tonight!

he is on it this season, 2 races, 2 wins by a clear distance so far.
If he wants it he can do it - sad to say he didnt want to for Wolves in his last season.

do we really care about tonights match? Lets the Fleas take a victory in a meaningless competition Although I agree with your 'meaningless competition' sentiment, as Mr. E says in his above post about David Howe, speedway tends to be a 'confidence' game. To get beaten in a series of challenge matches at the start of the season may make it more difficult to get results when the real business starts. Like it or not, the Fleas have put together a solid line-up this year; I believe to beat them at any time (regardless of fixture importance) would be a good leg-up for the rest of the season.

PS A right TONKING (which this is fast becoming) on home shale is never good for business.

Our 3 and 4 are extremely frustrating - no one expects maximums but the dramatic swing of points race to race does make things quite inconsistent.

Of course confidence is important, tho im really unsure how a team can `gel` when there number one is missing for these filler meetings. The meetings against Brum showed some promise but against Coventry they have riders that can cover for Harris missing more than we can. Nicholls and Kennett being able to take 6 rides is something we wrre always going to struggle against. Agree a win would be a great boaster. Off nights and mechanical gremlins to sort should be in these sort of meetings so whilst i hate seeing my team beaten, particularly against the Fleas, im open minded to how we will fair in the league. Freddie looks a concern to me, just doesnt look comfortable in his riding style. Me thinks his back problem is more problematic than he lets on. Worryingly around our tight turns.

At the green at the moment.....Sowka is dire. Why can't we replace him before the league starts?

I think I heard that you can't replace riders on accessed averages until the've achieved a real average (i.e. a minimum number of home/away fixtures)... With both of our accessed riders, the actual average will be MUCH lower than the accessed figure.
