Mon 17 Peterborough EL HOME - Fri 21 Lakeside EL Away - Mon 24 Eastbourne EL HOME - JULY Mon 01 Gary Peterson Memorial (Dudley v Wolves) Dudley-Wolves Trophy HOME - Mon 08 Poole EL HOME - Wed 10 Poole EL Away - Thu 11 Swindon EL Away
Ty Proctor has put on Twitter that his planned or hoped return to action next week now may be up to another month after medical advice from his doctor and with Tai's fitness still unknown ..... Are temporary signings required in the next few weeks leading upto the break for the world team cup. ?
LAKESIDE away will see Ricky Wells also missing as Sheffield are at Scunthorpe (Lawson also unavailable) while SWINDON away also falls on the night Sheffield hold an Individual meeting, so Ricky may be missing that one too ?
At present TAI is set to return to the #1 racejacket when new figures are released, so guests will then be allowed ........ as long as Freddie keeps picking up bonus points !!
Now IF ... and I say IF Ty is possibly out till the World Team Cup break, who can fit into his position on 5.78
DANIEL NERMARK; 5.37 has just returned from injury and won his first race back beating Chris Harris, Grigory Laguta and Krzysztof Buczkowski. ... After a lay off, maybe he could do with a few extra meetings and when over here lives near by.
DAVID RUUD; 5.27 hasn't ridden here for a while but he has been struggling this season in Sweden and Poland.
PETER LJUNG; 5.61 is better than his average suggests and scores well in Sweden and Poland where he rides alongside Ludvig in Sweden and Tai in Poland.
MIKKEL MICHELSEN; 5.00 or 5.50 now rides in Sweden and Poland alongside Freddie and so far has hit double figure scores in 12 / 18 meetings this season and still only 18 years of age
I'm not saying these riders would ride here or want to ride in England, just that their averages fit and a temporary replacement may be a better option than r/r which is not filling Ty's shoes.
MIKKEL BECK ; Although he has an assessed average, he has ridden the EL before. Would rules allow him to double up for the next month as Ty's replacement ?

If Ty is out for a while then a temp signing is sensible because it puts too much pressure on the reserves to do well when they have to take most of the R/R rides. But can't say any of the names suggested by TNT appeal very much

I would give Michelsen ago as a temp replacement.

Tomasz Jedrzejak 5.18 is 34 next month but still scres well for Wroclaw and has been back a few times to England, usually for a short time. He also rides for Vastervik with Ludvig. Could he be tempted for a few weeks and really only a handful of matches ?
Jurica Pavlic 5.10 is well known to everyone but is now 24 and rides mainly on a Sunday for Rzeszow in Poland
Yet again, not saying these two would want to ride in England, but Mikkel Bech and THJ have returned so far this season ?

I think a temporary signing is definitely needed to cover for Ty's absence now - nerve damage is always hard to assess and cure - I remember one of our former rider's Martin Scarisbrick suffering nerve damage at spoonland when he broke his collarbone which ultimately ended his career but lets hope that isn't the case with Ty.
Realistically I can't see it being a foreigner who has been here before as those who want to come back are probably already here. One who springs to mind is Miskowiak but I think his Poole experience has knocked the stuffing out of him regarding Britain.
More likely to be another double up rider - not sure if riders like Thomas Jorgensen - who has always battled hard for us - or Micky Dyer are fixed up anywhere yet?

Wolfie Miskowiak has a 5.64 average at present but one big problem is he is still in the Poole 1-7 Thomas Jorgensen has been struggling this season ad is currently injured while Mickey Dyer can't double up as he started the season on an assessed average so 2014 is the earliest he can double up. One rider that would fit in on a 5.08 average is ...... David Howe One good point could be is that when the next set of averages come out, at present, Ty is 4th in the team averages with Ricky dropping to 5th, so Adam, Ricky and the reserves get extra rides. Ideally Peter Ljung 5.61 or Mikkel Michelsen 5.50 would be my favourites to come in, but think most likely would be Daniel Nermark 5.27.

Well Nermark does live local that would keep the cost down.

With Tai and Ty now rulled out of the trip to Lakeside (+Ricky riding for Sheffield) and the home clash with Eastbourne, it's going to be very testing with R/R in both matches, but especially at Lakeside where two guests will be used.
With only Belle Vue, Birmingham, Kings Lynn and Peterborough not riding on Friday, the obvious and strongest guest for Tai would have to be Niels K Iversen however Kenneth Bjerre seems to be on form at present and scored 13 at Lakeside last month while NKI struggled on his visit there earlier in the season.
Guests for Ricky could be Ben Barker but Richie Worrall or Kauko Nieminen replacing Ty would mean R/R can be used by everyone apart from Freddie and that looks the strongest option
As for next monday when we face Eastbourne, the other match that day is Belle Vue V Poole so the choice of guests is vast with Iversen, KK, Nicholls, Harris and even PK in the list.
After that its a break for a few weeks until the double Poole fixtures and then a break for the World Team Cup

So Wolves have announced Ryan Fisher as guest replacement for Woffy !!!....Surely he would be better as Wells replacement ?
Please correct me if his average doesnt fit *

Average does fit and I think Fisher is guesting for Ricky R/R for Ty and another guest for Tai hopefully Iversen unless he is in one of the GP qualifiers the following day.
Understand where you are coming from though as I thought the same after first reading on the web site and the fact they dont say Fisher is actually replacing Tai makes me think the above.
I could be talking rubbish of course, if so it might be painful watching on Friday, still going whatever.

Just checked GP qualifiers Iversen Bjerre riding in them added to three other EL meetings Friday I think I am talking rubbish above and Fisher could well be in for Tai. I would have thought it would have been better to have gone with R/R for Tai and guests for Ricky and Ty.

I had a look at who was or might be available for Friday. I ended up looking at Martin Smolinski. The Fish did not figure; mind you I was thinking of going to the Happy Shoppers with at least one point on the list.

Bit shocked to see Ryan Fisher booked for Lakeside as a top guest for Tai and R/R for Ricky with another guest for Ty in my opinion would have been the strongest way to go as the guest for Tai would have had an extra ride along with Adam, Ty's guest and one for a reserve.
Using R/R for Ty means only Adam and the reserves get extra rides.
Could they be looking at R/R for Tai with Freddie, Fish, Adam and Ty's guest getting the extra rides ?
See Adam Roynon is back on the bike but as yet isn't named in anyone's 1-7. Would it not be worth booking him as temporary cover for Ty Proctor as he certainly knows Monmore well enough. ?

I think Roynon is a good call and I would be happy to see him come in for a month or so

According to the official site (now updated for the visit to HS) the rules only allow for a PL rider to guest for a double up rider. So, Fisher in for Tai, Alex Davies in for Ty, R/R for Ricky and the whole team in for defeat.
