......... For EASTBOURNE !!!
So we are not going to see one of Denmark's hottest prospects at Monmore Green while Niklas Porsing (Kings Lynn), Andrezjs Lebedevs (Kings Lynn), Kim Nilsson (Lakeside) and Lasse Bjerre (Kings Lynn) have joined up in recent weeks. .... Question has to be asked. .... Is one of the main problems the Monday raceday ?
Michelsen appears in Sweden and Poland alongside Freddie who copes well with doing three days in a row, but other riders don't like this (Tai included). So which riders still fit the gap left by Ty .... not saying they are going to sign but just fit !
Top of My List still has to be Peter Ljung who rides with Tai in Poland but second in my wish list is now young Polish International, Tobiasz Musielak who also rides for Leszno alongside Freddie (and Michelson) and also for Vestervik in Sweden alongside Ludvig.
Vaclav Milik is one to watch but as good as he is, even I wonder if he is ready for the Elite League, so my third choice still has to be Daniel Nermark.
Otherwise R/R looks the best option. ..... Always available on a Monday .... no need to fly them in ..... better than Jesper B .... Jacob really coming on strong

it will be R/R to save money and cheat the paying supporters of a 7 man team.

I do think we have to conclude that reason one is closer to the truth than two. Every season Wolves arrive at a point when they need to bring in a new rider either because we have an under performing rider that needs replacing or because someone is injured. And every season it either takes a very long time or doesn't happen at all. Meanwhile plenty of other teams in the league seem to find what they are looking for. And we all know that if Poole have one chance of winning the league they improve their team regularly to try to achieve that goal.
There are lots of positives about the Wolves promotion and I am sure having a team that includes Freddie and Tai doesn't come cheap - but its frustrating for the supporters that no provision appears to be there in the budget to make the changes that every team needs from time to time

Monday night is quite a bit of the problem for numerous reasons.
Unless you are a top class rider, you only have one team behind you. These travel to all the matches and it is hard to get all bikes, personell and equipment from Poland to England to Sweden in the space of 48 hours and 3 nights racing.
Freddie has always said how he doesn't mind the 3 meeting in 3 countries in 3 days and then whatever else pops up. However quite a few have said they would much rather do Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and possibly the GP's.
Take into account rain offs which would result in a whole days travelling for nothing and then possibly riding in Denmark, Germany, Italy or Czech on certain weeks and it can leave a rider under performing due to tiredness. Tai Woffinden has had numerous offers from Swedish clubs this year but he feels riding the GP's, Poland and England gives him time to relax and spend time with friends or family. He has openly stated that this could be one of the main reasons he is having such a good season in all competitions while riders that ride in all three main leagues, often find themselves burning out, especially if its Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
Having said that ..... if a rider like Ljung, Michelsen etc have a travelling companion like Freddie, would they consider two or three months of racing 3 days ?

But it isn't two or three months. Leaving Monday next to one side, we have two more home EL meetings, on the 12th and 26th of August. Then one or hopefully two play off home meetings.

And now Poole have signed Greg Hancock - he would have been ok to replace Ty.

29/07 - COVENTRY 05/08 - Belle Vue 07/08 - Birmingham 09/08 - Coventry 12/08 - BIRMINGHAM 26/08 - BELLE VUE
Away - Peterborough TBA
We have now slipped down to third in the table and both Swindon and Brummies have matches in hand but thankfully we are 9 points clear of fourth and 12 clear of fifth placed Poole who look best placed to also make the play offs especially now they have Greg Hancock riding at #3 in their team.
With all but two of our remaining fixtures in the next two weeks, it looks like R/R is with us for the duration and we can only hope that Adam has a few not so good meetings and his average drops below Ty's 5.78 but that looks unlikely as the meetings being removed from Adam as he goes on are quite low and his average is likely to increase.
1 Birmingham (4-7) .......... 17 7 2 0 1 / 3 1 2 1 0 848 714 45 2 Swindon (6-2) .......... 20 5 2 0 1 / 2 4 0 3 3 974 860 42 3 Wolverhampton (3-4) .......... 21 8 2 0 1 / 1 2 0 4 3 1009 904 42 4 Lakeside (3-6) .......... 19 8 1 0 2 / 1 1 0 0 6 876 863 33 5 Poole (5-3) .......... 20 3 3 1 2 / 3 0 0 2 6 908 912 30 6 King's Lynn (5-4) .......... 19 6 1 0 2 / 1 0 0 4 5 849 866 28 7 Coventry (3-6) .......... 19 5 2 1 3 / 1 0 0 0 7 839 888 24 8 Eastbourne (6-2) .......... 20 4 3 0 1 / 0 0 0 2 10 853 986 20 9 Belle Vue * (4-5) .......... 19 5 1 0 4 / 0 1 1 0 7 823 912 19 10 Peterborough (5-5) .......... 18 4 0 1 4 / 0 0 0 1 8 779 853 14
Poole can reach 45 points just by winning their remaining home matches and Lakeside just 42, so taking into account Poole will possibly pick up a few points away too, Wolves have to be looking at 48 being safe ground, maybe 50.
Just a thought ..... could we sign a rider on loan for the play offs from a team that has failed to make the play offs ? .... Simon Gustafsson or Ritchie Worrall maybe ?
or sign Simon Gustafsson as soon as possible which would allow Eastbourne to sign Linus Sundstrom for the run in !!
