Good points steve. I think Coventry switched riders tonight to suit the context. We seem to be going through the motions rather complacently as a club.

Good points steve. I think Coventry switched riders tonight to suit the context. We seem to be going through the motions rather complacently as a club. Other teams have made aggressive changes whilst we still have Magnus. The only changeswe have made is Kenneth for Theo and the occasional line up switch between Billy & Freddie that the rules enforce. I say put Freddie at #1 when he returns. In 1990 this was put on Ronnie and he, for the 1st time, rode like a #1. In any activity you can justify no change when all is going to plan (in EL Speedway that means a top 2 league position). Since this was more or less unlikely for us since May, we are about 4 months too late on any changes that may happen.

Evening all. Dropping in and out tonight (today) since it's a Bank Hol here in North America (Labour Day here in Canada, but Labor Day in the illiterate US), and also the wife and kids have returned after 7 weeks in the UK. What's more, I also don't expect us to win tonight, so my interest levels are low.
Thanks for bringing the updates - at least I can keep tabs on the scores

PK in 5 of the last 7 rides (3 programmed, 1 R/R, 1 Golden Tactical off 15 metres) Anyone ever done a 24 point maximum before?

PK on a TR in 10. First running Smolinski drops off and stays down until the red light comes on. He then promptly gets up to see his exclusion light. We were on an 8-1.
You know what to expect then.......

No, he was excluded - but the 8-1 is lost as Harris passes both Wolves riders on lap 2 in the rerun; PK returns the compliment for a 7-2.
Johnno takes the RR in 11.
Bizarre heat 11. Shields leads in to the LAST turn with Nicholls second. WIILIAM comes underneath Johnno for third but the ex-Wolves captain lawnmower SKY commentary expert Aussie thrill merchant veteran slides off and stays down. As the riders cross the chequered flag the ref puts the red light on and excludes WILLIAM. Then orders a rerun of the race! The two minutes have just been cancelled and one imagines animated discussions taking place as i type this.

Lindaback retired in his 2nd ride and has withdrawn from the meeting after 'aggravating an old injury/needing a kip' ;D Prepare for a Poole homecoming in 2008 for the prodigal son on the 'massaged' average.

The ref is on a roll.
Heat 12 (PK in as RR) sees JAMES try to pass Harris and clips his back wheel. James straightens and then slews into the fence. He is still down. harris comes off on the next turn.
So You are the ref: what do you do?
is it
a) rerun heat 11 again b) exclude JAMES as the primary cause of the stoppage c) exclude Harris as a means of creating some interest.

That is all absolutely correct Steve, and sums up the main reason for my lack of interest this season. Jon Cook summed it up before the season when he said "Wolves have been treading water for the past few years and this season won't be any different." If another promoter is prepared to come out and say it... I'm still dipping in to check the scores of course. Thanks to Mr 8 and Pieman (I think) for the updates.
