Went to Leicester speedway on Saturday. Big crowd, good setup considering they built the stadium from scratch, though they could lose a few of the bricks. Track reminded us of Odsal - big, wide, fast, sweeping bends. Pretty dire match unfortunately. Thunderstorms threatened so track underwatered, lots of hold ups, crashes, punctured airfence, only 9 races by 9pm!

Did you ever get to see the original Leicester track? Big and wide open spaces, but I never saw a great meeting there.
Mind you, it was Wolves I went to see.

Sadly, no. It closed a year too early for me. There were a couple of good races late on. Chris Neath nipped up the inside of Richard Hall who used the banking to good effect to blast round him again. I think we were just unlucky to pick a dud meeting.
Half time at Stoke and Wolves just haven't got going at all. Could easily be 4 or 5 down.

The food at Blackbird Rd was superb. The most bizarre race I saw was the Golden helmet match race when Ole defended it against..... malcolm Shakespeare.
I will be there on friday as Plymouth open their account in the PL against Sheffield.
Arnold Haley: where is he now?

I liked Plymouth, will be interesting to see how PL speedway works out. It was a bit like having a track in somebody's back garden though, it all seems shoehorned into such a small space.

Should be safe now after a 3-3 in 12. Lud and Ricky fill second and third.
But I'm afraid it gets worse as WWFC go 3-0 down.

Yes, with Fred and PK to come twice, surely this one is safe?
3-0 to Stoke in the other game. I preferred the blacked out commentary.

I liked Plymouth, will be interesting to see how PL speedway works out. It was a bit like having a track in somebody's back garden though, it all seems shoehorned into such a small space. It started as a track built on half a field owned by a local school. It had two rugby pitches originally. Mike Bowden (the promoter) is pursuing other venues in the city as a longer term solution. 4-2 in 13 puts us 12 up. Meeting won.

Go Tyson! 5-1 in 14 as Tyson follows Lud for a great 5-1.

Superb stuff, brilliant for Tyson. Sounds like a very good performance tonight, maybe Tai's injury has actually spurred them into action?

5-1 in 15 underlines the margin of victory. A good night for all the team.

56-36 - terrific stuff. Hope the whingeing Aces fans enjoyed PK's performance. Perhaps when they come to borrow somebody elses heat leaders again next season they will go elsewhere...

Well done lads! I'm dead chuffed for the entire team, particularly those who've been struffling to get going.
Hardly the best of opposition (by the looks of things); however, you can only beat what's in front of you (that should be behind you, surely)... I hope this gives the middle order and reserves a boost in confidence.
